Regina Parra’s practice focuses on the social body of women. Working in painting, video, and performance, she is interested in relations of power and vulnerability, that result from women’s shared experiences and their bodies.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Regina Parra has an MA in Art History from Faculdade Santa Marcelina (SP) and a BFA from Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado (SP). She studied at École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts in Paris and has a background in Theater. Her works have been shown at institutions such as the Jewish Museum (NY), PAC_Padiglione d’Arte Contemporanea (Milan), Museu Nacional (Lisbon), OnCurating Project Space (Zurich), Galeria Millan, Pinacoteca de São Paulo, Pivô, CCSP, Parque Lage, Paço das Artes, Fundação Marcos Amaro, Instituto Figueiredo Ferraz (all in Brazil). In 2013, Parra was nominated to the Young Artists Prize of Fundación Cisneros. She has received awards from SP Arte, Fundação Joaquim Nabuco, and Videobrasil.
